From Medical Gloves to Cleaning Gloves: How This Pro Turned a Side Hustle into a Cleaning Empire

Move over, Cinderella—there’s a new cleaning boss in town. Meet Ambrosia, founder of Paradise Cleaning who traded a 22-year career as a phlebotomist for a mop, a vision, and a whole lot of determination. What started as a side gig has turned into a commercial cleaning empire spanning schools, car lots, and even heavy hitters like CSX and Dave & Buster’s.

From Bloodwork to Business Brilliance

Ambrosia’s leap from phlebotomy to janitorial services wasn’t planned—it was fate. After answering an ad for commercial cleaning, she discovered not only a new career but a passion for the freedom and satisfaction that comes with being her own boss. “I love that I can control my time while building something meaningful,” she says.

Of course, no good fairy tale comes without a few trials. Ambrosia admits that pricing her services and marketing her business felt like jumping into the deep end of the pool. But with her entrepreneurial spirit, she swam instead of sinking. “It’s all about learning as you go and making the adjustments you need to succeed,” she says.

Wax On, Wax Off: Mastering the Art of Floors

Ambrosia recently leveled up her game with a four-day hands-on floor and grout care certification in Atlanta. Think Mr. Miyagi, but with commercial floors instead of cars. The training wasn’t just about buffing and shining—it also came with a crash course in pricing, client relationships, and owning your expertise.

“The hands-on training was a game-changer,” Ambrosia shares. “Now I feel confident expanding my services and charging what I’m worth.”

Growth, But Make It Purposeful

Over the past six years, Ambrosia’s empire has expanded like her well-polished floors. Managing 70+ CSX sites, schools, and car lots, she’s built a team of 17 contractors while keeping her focus laser-sharp on quality. “I don’t want to grow so fast that the work suffers,” she says. In a world obsessed with shortcuts, Ambrosia is taking the scenic route—and it’s paying off.

Her next big move? Transitioning from 1099 contractors to W2 employees. But first, she’s diving into the world of payroll and compliance. “I want to do it right the first time,” she says. No shortcuts here, folks.

Collaboration Over Competition

If there’s one thing Ambrosia believes in, it’s that there’s enough business to go around. “I’m all about sharing knowledge,” she says. “Helping others in the industry succeed doesn’t take anything away from me.” She wants to help create a networking community for janitorial pros to share resources, ideas, and support—a place where the industry can thrive together.

Ambrosia’s Wisdom for Fellow Entrepreneurs

Ambrosia’s success didn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of hard work, constant learning, and a whole lot of grit. Her advice for others? “Don’t get overwhelmed by what you don’t know. Focus on learning one thing at a time. The work isn’t hard—it’s managing the business that takes effort.”

Ambrosia is living proof that with the right attitude and determination, you can build something amazing—one floor, one contract, and one lesson at a time. At Peazy, we’re thrilled to celebrate her success and proud to have her in our vendor community.
